Material Systems & Structural Exploration

In the Material Systems module, I gained an understanding of how different materials behave under tension, compression, and load .by​ designing a structural model with a 1-meter span, using minimal materials while ensuring stability and efficiency. This exercise deepened my understanding of load distribution, joinery, and the creative use of materials in construction.

Additionally, building a 1:1 scale floating table by whole class taught me to think critically about balance, support, and visual lightness. It was a valuable experience in translating structural concepts into a real, functioning object — where aesthetics and engineering had to coexist seamlessly.
